Thimphu Tshechu

The annual Thimphu Tshechu/Festival is held on 13th 15th September, where every Bhutanese Men and women wear colorful dresses (Gho and kira) to attend the Tshechu which held every year. The Thimphu Tshechu in Bhutan is deeply rooted in Bhutanese religions and cultural traditions and it commemorates the birth anniversary of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the revered saint who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan in the 8th century.
